A study conducted in November 2022 found out that many commercial sanitary pads sold in India have loads of harmful chemicals that are not good for a menstruator's health.

 So, one should be careful enough while choosing the right fit and the best sanitary pads.

The first step in choosing sanitary pads is being aware of your period flow and understanding your period cycle. Every menstruator has a different period cycle. Therefore, depending on your period flow, you can only decide which is the best fit for yourself.

Look for sanitary pads with the right amount of absorbency: Though highly absorbent sanitary pads might sound better; you might not require them at all. In that case, you go for sanitary pads for regular flow.

The material of a sanitary pad is the next thing to look for: Always go for sanitary pads that are made from organic material without any chemicals, artificial scents, bleach, or prints for a comfortable period experience.

Lifestyle: Your lifestyle plays an important role in your menstrual cycle. So while choosing your sanitary pads, you should keep this point in mind as well. Depending on your lifestyle, you can also choose between other menstrual products (menstrual cups, tampons, period panties) available in the market.
